HB 164 The Ohio Student Religious Liberties Act of 2019

 In Bill Alerts

H.B. 164, The Ohio Students Religious Liberties Act of 2019, was introduced by Representative Tim Ginter (R-Salem) and is now in hearings before the House Primary and Secondary Education Committee. This bill codifies Ohio law to ensure that public school students in high school can engage in religious activity to the same extent that students can engage in secular ones.

H.B. 164 will provide clarification to students, parents, teachers and administrators and will remove the barrier which has been unfairly applied to Christian students from district administrators that they may only engage in their religious expression before and after school and lunch periods.
